When it comes to making a golf swing, it’s all about loading and pressuring the club shaft. The Lag Shot driver is a great training device for this. The key is to feel when it loads and when it kicks. Start by swinging with just one hand. The flexibility of the shaft and weight of the clubhead allows you to feel how it loads and kicks at the bottom of your swing. Hold the clubhead stationary on your backswing and just let the club go. The club will take off on its own. The loading of the shaft is essential and something you want to feel. Again, take your left hand and hold the handle, then with your right hand, bend the clubhead back and let the club go. That kick is what you feel when the club takes off. The club is kicking on the downswing through the ball. When the club kicks, just let your left arm follow. When you get set up to the ball, you want to feel that same load and kick of the club. You are not trying to force your hands to go. The loading of the clubhead and the pressure on the shaft kicks the club down onto the ball. You will see a big difference in your distance and consistency if you practice this.
