Mike Malaska uses the Rapsodo Mobile Launch Monitor to work on his launch angle, which is critical in golf.
Mike uses a driver, and the optimal launch angle with a driver is around 12.5 to 16 degrees.
Mike sets up and does a normal drive. The mobile launch monitor registers 12.1 degrees, which is a little low. He makes another swing and moves the ball farther up in his stance, more off his left foot. This time it goes up to 12.7 degrees.
It should still be a little higher. Mike moves the ball forward. He then moves into his right side, leaving a bit more weight as he comes into the ball. His next swing registers 16.3 degrees.
Mike has found his ideal launch angle by combining ball position and moving into his right side on the downswing.
