Mike Malaska uses the Rapsodo Mobile Launch Monitor to work on drills to create more club speed.
Mike makes a couple of swings. First, he pulls through the handle on the follow-through and drags it through the ball. Mike sets up and makes the swing, and the mobile launch monitor records 79 mph clubhead speed.
On the next swing, Mike does what is called the pullback. When Mike swings and hits the ball, he slows the handle down and pulls it back. He uses the same arm speed and creates a pivoting action. The clubhead speed goes up to 89 mph.
This is an excellent way to increase speed. You will notice Tour players recoil their club after they have hit the ball.
This drill slows the handle down and accelerates the clubhead.
