Posture and balance are important in all motions. In putting you take your set up by. First take your grip get your trail arm in line with the shaft. Then weight is in the center of your feet. Your toes are quiet. Then push your hips back and place the putter on the ground. The putter shaft is aiming just above your belly button or to the middle of your back.
Hand action in the putting stroke is the beginning of full swing. The key is that there is no twisting in the wrists. The club shaft points back at your center. Your trail wrists can have flexion and extension but you do not want any rolling of the face or wrists.
The ability to see the correct line and start the ball down the line is critical in putting. Practicing on a chalk line to learn how to start the ball down your intended line is a basic skill. Once you can do that. Then it is how well do you see line when the line is not there.
