How you set up and use your body in the bunkers is a big deal.
The biggest mistake people make is they think they are getting under the ball. When they swing, they tend to fall back on their back foot. When that happens, you will hit way behind the ball, and you won’t be able to get the ball out of the bunker.
You are basically playing bunker shots on your left foot. The key is to stand on your left foot, drop your right foot back, swing into the sand, and throw the sand without falling back.
An excellent way to practice is to stand on your left foot with your right foot back and use your right toe to balance. Set up and try to hit the sand without falling backward.
The takeaway is about setting up correctly, staying there, hitting the sand, and not falling back.
That is your bunker shot!
